The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) offers the following credentials through its test vendor, Professional Testing (PTI):

  • Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Registered Sanitarian (REHS/RS)
  • Certified Environmental Health Technician (CEHT)
  • Certified Installer of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (CIOWTS)
  • Certified Professional-Food Safety (CP-FS)
  • Healthy Homes Specialist (HHS)
  • Comprehensive Food Safety Specialist (CCFS)

These marks of distinction assist both employers and the credentialed individual. Employers can be confident that a credentialed employee has acquired the knowledge necessary to competently perform their duties. Credentialed individuals may find positions easier to obtain, and may increase their earnings.
